An Appfigures alternative for finding what to build
Prices and features checked · 5 min read
Appfigures is the tool most indie developers already have open, and this page is written by a competitor, so treat it as an argument. Prices below come from Appfigures' own pricing page on 27 August 2026.
The honest split: your app, or the market
Appfigures connects to your store account. It reports the numbers only you can see: downloads, revenue, subscription movements, ad spend, plus keyword tracking and review replies on top. It is an analytics product with ASO attached.
Atlaso never touches your store account. Everything it knows comes from Apple's public surfaces, which is a real limitation and also the point: it can read the whole market rather than one app. It exists to answer what is underserved and worth building, and it scores the answer.
Price and limits
| Plan | Per month | Keywords | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Atlaso (all tiers) | $29 / $69 / $149 | no cap | Price sets how often the opportunity report runs |
| Appfigures Free | $0 | — | Ranks, ratings, review replies, own-app metrics |
| Appfigures Connect | $9.99 | 25 | 5 apps included, $1.99 per extra app |
| Appfigures Monitor | $44.99 | 100 | |
| Appfigures Optimize | $149.99 | 500 | 1 premium competitor |
| Appfigures Boost | $599.99 | 1,000 | 2 premium competitors |
| Appfigures Amplify | $1,399.99 | 2,500 | 5 apps included, as every paid tier |
Two things stand out. Appfigures has a real free tier, not a trial, and its entry plan is a third of ours. And Appfigures prices by keyword count, so the bill grows as your research does, while every Atlaso tier carries unlimited keywords and apps and charges only for report cadence.
What Atlaso does that Appfigures does not
- Scored opportunities, not just metrics. 25 categories across three storefronts, each idea rated on demand, winnability, monetization, feasibility and momentum, with the incumbent it takes from named.
- Complaint clusters from recent reviews. Not a sentiment score: the named grievances behind a charting app, counted, with the quotes.
- Market structure per category. Modelled entry wall, charted competitors, and whether small apps actually monetize in that lane.
- A published method and a free run. Every weight is public and a full month is free.
What Appfigures does that Atlaso does not
- Your own performance data. Downloads, revenue, subscriptions, ad spend. Atlaso has none of this and cannot get it.
- Download and revenue estimates for other apps. Atlaso models market size from public ratings and labels it an estimate; it has no panel data.
- Review replies and store-listing workflow.
- Android. Atlaso is Apple App Store only, in six storefronts.
Which to pick
Shipping an app already and wanting to know how it performs: Appfigures, and the free tier may be enough for a while. Trying to decide what to build, or which niche to enter, with evidence rather than a hunch: that is what Atlaso scores. Read a full run free and judge the output before paying for anything. There is also a side-by-side of every tool on this list.
Questions
- Is Appfigures cheaper than Atlaso?
- At the entry tier, yes, and by a lot: Appfigures Connect was $9.99 a month against Atlaso's $29, and Appfigures also has a genuinely free plan. The tiers converge higher up, where Appfigures Optimize was $149.99 with a 500-keyword cap and Atlaso's top tier is $149 with no keyword cap at all.
- Does Atlaso show my downloads and revenue?
- No, and it never will from your own store account. Appfigures connects to App Store Connect and reports your real downloads, revenue and subscriptions. Atlaso works only from Apple's public data, so it can tell you about any app on the chart, including your competitors, but nothing private about yours.
- Can I use both?
- That is the common answer. Appfigures for your own numbers and keyword tracking, Atlaso for deciding what to build or which niche to enter next. They overlap on keyword research and almost nowhere else.
