An AppTweak alternative for indie developers
Prices and features checked · 5 min read
If you searched for an AppTweak alternative you are probably one of two people: a solo developer who cannot justify a few hundred a month, or someone who tried a full ASO suite and found it answers a question you were not asking.
This page is written by the people who make Atlaso, so read it as an argument rather than a review. The facts about AppTweak below were checked on their public pricing page on 27 August 2026 and they are free to change them tomorrow.
They are built for different jobs
AppTweak is an ASO suite for teams: agencies and in-house marketers running keyword sets across many apps and many countries, reporting to clients, buying Apple Search Ads. If that is the job, a suite is the correct tool and this page is not for you.
Atlaso answers a narrower question: what is worth building or fixing next. It snapshots the charts every day, mines recent reviews of the apps that are already winning, and scores the gaps as opportunities a single developer could take. Keyword research and daily rank tracking come with it, but they are not the centre of it.
Price
- Atlaso Tracker29 per month
- Atlaso Scout69 per month
- Atlaso Pro149 per month
- AppTweak Essential79 per month
1 seat, 500 keywords
- AppTweak Grow249 per month
1 seat, 1,500 keywords
- AppTweak Grow Plus499 per month
1 seat, 3,000 keywords
Both run a 7-day trial and both take a card to start it. Two differences matter more than the headline number. Atlaso sets no limit on keywords or apps on any tier: the price buys how often the opportunity report runs, not how much of the workspace you are allowed to touch. And the currencies are not comparable at a glance, so treat the bars as orders of magnitude rather than an exchange-rate exercise.
What Atlaso does that a suite does not
- A scored opportunity atlas. 25 categories across six storefronts, rerun monthly or weekly, each idea scored on demand, winnability, monetization, feasibility and momentum. Not keywords to chase: things to build.
- Review evidence, counted. Recent one and two-star reviews of the charting apps, clustered into named complaints with how many people said each one. That is where an opening actually comes from.
- A published scoring method. Every weight and penalty is public, generated from the live parameters rather than hand-copied, so you can disagree with a number.
- A complete run given away. One full month is free, no account and no card, so you can judge the output before paying for the next one.
What AppTweak does that Atlaso does not
Stating this plainly is the only way the rest of the page is worth reading.
- Coverage. Atlaso tracks six storefronts: the US, the UK, Turkey, Germany, Japan and South Korea. A suite covers dozens of countries and both app stores.
- Download and revenue estimates, and ad intelligence. Atlaso models an entry wall and a market size from public ratings data and labels them as estimates. It has no paid-data panel behind it and no Search Ads integration.
- Teams. No seats, no roles, no client reporting.
- Deep history. Apple publishes no past charts, so Atlaso's history starts the day it began capturing. A vendor that has been collecting for years has years.
Which one to pick
Managing ASO for clients, or for a portfolio across many countries: buy the suite. Trying to work out which app to build, or why the app you shipped is not moving, on your own budget: that is the case Atlaso is built for, and the free run is the cheapest way to check whether the output is any good.
Start with the free Scout run or run a keyword through the free difficulty checker. Neither needs an account.
Questions
- Is Atlaso a full AppTweak replacement?
- No. AppTweak covers far more storefronts, offers ad intelligence and download estimates, and is built for teams with seats and client reporting. Atlaso covers the US, UK, Turkey, Germany, Japan, South Korea and China and is built for one developer choosing what to build next.
- How much cheaper is Atlaso?
- Atlaso starts at $29 a month and its top tier is $149. AppTweak's published entry plan was £79 a month when this page was last checked, rising to £249 and £499. Both offer a 7-day trial.
- Is there anything free?
- Yes. One complete Scout run is published free at /scout, all 25 categories and three storefronts, and the keyword difficulty checker at /tools/keyword-difficulty needs no account.
