COMPARISON
A Sensor Tower alternative for people without a sales call
Prices and features checked · 4 min read
Checked on 27 August 2026, Sensor Tower's pricing page carried no prices: it invites you to contact sales for a customised plan, with no free tier and no self-serve trial. That is not a criticism, it is a segment. Published pricing is what a product does when it expects you to buy without talking to anyone.
So the honest comparison is not feature-by-feature. It is: are you the customer they are built for?
What Sensor Tower is for
Market intelligence at company scale. Estimated downloads and revenue for any app in any market, advertising intelligence, category benchmarking, worldwide store coverage across iOS and Android, and years of history to trend against. Investors, publishers and growth teams making seven-figure decisions need that, and nothing on this site replaces it.
What Atlaso is for
One developer deciding what to build or where to compete. It snapshots Apple's charts daily in six storefronts, mines recent reviews of the apps already winning, and scores the gaps 0–100 on demand, winnability, monetization, feasibility and momentum. $29 to $149 a month, published on the page, no call.
Everything it knows comes from Apple's public endpoints, so where Sensor Tower estimates downloads from a panel, Atlaso models an entry wall and a market size from ratings velocity and labels them estimates. Weaker data, stated as such, rather than a confident number with a methodology you cannot inspect. Ours is published in full.
The practical test
- You need a defensible market-size number for a board or an investor. Take the sales call. A modelled estimate from public ratings will not survive scrutiny.
- You need Android, or markets beyond the six we cover. Atlaso does not cover them.
- You need to know which app to build next, on your own money. That is the question Atlaso is built to answer, and one full run is free so you can test the answer before paying.
Try the output, not the demo
The fastest way to judge any of these tools is to read their output rather than their feature list. Ours is public: a complete run of 25 categories across three storefronts, every score with the review evidence behind it, and a free keyword checker that needs no account. If it is not useful in ten minutes, you have lost ten minutes rather than a procurement cycle.
A side-by-side of the self-serve tools is on the indie ASO tools page.
Questions
- How much does Sensor Tower cost?
- They do not say publicly. Their pricing page asks you to contact sales for a customised plan, and lists no free tier or self-serve trial. Third-party reports put enterprise contracts in the tens of thousands a year, but no figure from us would be verifiable, so we do not quote one.
- Is Atlaso the same kind of product?
- No. Sensor Tower is market intelligence: download and revenue estimates, ad intelligence and competitive benchmarking across app stores worldwide, sold to teams that report on markets. Atlaso reads Apple's public data in the US, UK, Turkey, Germany, Japan, South Korea and China storefronts and scores where a single developer could win.
- What do I lose by choosing the cheap option?
- Panel-derived download and revenue estimates, ad creative intelligence, worldwide coverage, Android, and years of backfilled history. If a decision depends on any of those, Atlaso is the wrong tool and no amount of price difference fixes that.
